PRESS RELEASE: BVIEC LAUNCHES “KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS” DATABASE UPDATE INITIATIVE

Tortola, British Virgin Islands, September 4, 2026 — The British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation (BVIEC), in collaboration with the Water and Sewerage Department (W&SD), are pleased to announce the launch of a Customer Database Update exercise, a key component of the two utility companies’ broader Know Your Customer initiative.
The exercise is designed to ensure that all customer accounts are updated with accurate and current information, allowing both BVIEC and W&SD to better serve customers across the territory.
Up-to-date account records allow the organisations to communicate more effectively with customers, process service requests more efficiently, safeguard accounts against fraud and unauthorised changes, and continue improving the overall customer experience.
With customers of the Water and Sewerage Department now able to query bills or make payments at BVIEC’s Long Bush Office, those customers are also invited to update their information and are asked to provide their metre number to ensure that records remain accurate and current in both utilities’ databases.
How Customers Can Participate
Customers are encouraged to visit either BVIEC’s Long Bush, Tortola Office or Virgin Gorda Office to update their account information. To complete the update, customers must present one (1) valid form of identification, which may include the following:
- National Health Insurance (NHI) number
- Driver’s Licence
- Passport
Online Submissions Available
Special provisions are in place for customers who are unable to visit either office in person. These customers may complete the necessary information online and upload the required identification by accessing the following link: https://bvielectricity.com/know-your-customer-form/
Landlords with multiple accounts are strongly encouraged to visit BVIEC’s Long Bush Office so that the necessary updates can be completed accurately and efficiently across all relevant accounts.
Customers are encouraged to update their information at their earliest convenience.
For further information, customers may contact BVIEC’s Customer Service Department at 852-4600 or email customerservices@bvielectricity.com.
