POWER IN PARTICIPATION: BVIEC HONOURED FOR STRONG SHOWING AT CHARITY 5K RUN/WALK

The BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) proudly participated for the first time in the Caribbean Insurers Ltd Purple Themed 5K Charity Run/Walk held on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

This annual event, which commenced at 5:30 a.m., was dedicated to raising funds for the BVI Alzheimer’s Association.

BVIEC’s strong showing, with 57 employees registered, earned the Corporation the Biggest Government Organisation award, a testament to our commitment to community engagement and wellness.

A special thanks goes to Occupational Health and Safety Technician JaneAnne Phipps, who played a pivotal role in organising and encouraging staff participation. Her dedication reflects BVIEC’s broader wellness vision.

“As one of the Health and Safety Technicians at BVI Electricity Corporation, one of my responsibilities for 2025 includes supporting our ‘Thrive Together, Wellness Works’  programme,” said Phipps.

She added, “As part of our ongoing initiatives, such as twice-weekly team workouts and bi-weekly Saturday morning walks with breakfast, I took the initiative to encourage staff participation in the 5K Run/Walk event. This effort is intended not only to promote team involvement, but also to reinforce our corporate wellness culture by encouraging healthy, active lifestyles.”

BVIEC extends sincere appreciation to all staff who participated and contributed to such a meaningful cause. Together, we continue to power our communities—not just with electricity, but with heart.
