PUBLIC RELATIONS AND MARKETING MEDIA MANAGER
VACANCY
The BVI Electricity Corporation (“BVIEC”) is currently seeking an innovative, highly motivated and energetic individual to fill the vacant position of Public Relations and Marketing Media Manager. The Public Relations and Marketing Media Manager should be able to nurture a strong industry network, increase awareness and develop an enviable corporate image by developing and executing effective communication and media relations programs. The ideal candidate must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
1. OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:
· Plan, organize and manage marketing campaigns in alignment with the BVIEC’s marketing strategies.
· Direct social media engagement strategies.
· Effectively manage communication with the media, customers and other stakeholders on various public relations and marketing projects and tasks.
2. QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:
· Master’s degree with five (5) or more years’ experience as a Marketing Manager or Public Relations Manager or similar role reporting directly to upper management;
· Bachelor’s degree with eight (8) or more years’ experience as a Marketing Manager or Public Relations Manager or similar role reporting directly to upper management.
3. SALARY:
· Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
4. PRIMARY DUTIES (include, but not limited to):
· Protect, manage and coordinate marketing and creative staff;
· Collaborate with media organizations and advertising agencies;
· Collaborate with the senior leadership team, including the General Manager, to set the marketing strategy for the business;
· Assist with interviews, hire, and train marketing staff members;
· Commission and undertake relevant market research and data analysis to form marketing strategies.
· Develop an impressive corporate image by planning and delivering publicity strategies and marketing campaigns;
· Track effectiveness of marketing campaigns and reporting findings to the senior leadership team;
· Negotiate and liaise with third-party marketing agencies;
· Examine the budget of the marketing unit and make sure that the budget expended is delivering a return on investment;
· Manage the design and production of promotional materials, such as websites and brochures;
· Coordinate with other departments to produce effective public relations and marketing strategies;
· Monitor current campaigns, ensuring their staff meet deadlines and complete necessary tasks;
· Analyze data to evaluate the success of marketing efforts and come up with new ideas to improve brand marketing and exposure;
· Management of BVIEC’s website;
· Social media, copywriting and content management;
· Write and produce presentations, articles, press releases and social media posts;
· Manage all public relations and corporate communications;
· Deal with enquiries from the public, the press and related organizations;
· Design or project manage the production of visual communications and digital content;
· Organize and attend promotional events such as press conferences, open days, exhibits, tours and visits;
· Speak publicly at interviews, press conferences and presentations;
· Keep records of progress, budgets and timescales, and keep customers/colleagues up to date accordingly;
· Travel to sister islands to perform duties on behalf of BVIEC;
· Work outside of their normal hours of work, and at short notice, due to the nature and/or the demands of their role; and
· Any other reasonable duties assigned as may be necessary to achieve the goals and objectives of BVIEC.
5. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
· Superb written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
· Excellent planning, organizational and strong time management skills;
· Strong and flexible team player with good leadership, decision making and problem-solving skills;
· Intimate knowledge and understanding of emerging marketing channels;
· Ability to use initiative, and think creatively and innovatively;
· Budget management skills;
· Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges;
· Familiarity with the latest technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
· Ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality of information related to BVIEC, its employees and other key stakeholders;
· Knowledge of applicable laws relating to, company organization and management, and electricity regulation.
