JOB VACANCY

The BVI Electricity Corporation (“BVIEC”) is seeking a vibrant, innovative, tech-savvy and design-driven professional to fill the position of MULTIMEDIA ASSISTANT.  The Multimedia Assistant will report to the Public Relations Marketing and Media Manager and will assist with the development, production, distribution of digital and visual content for internal and external communications.  This role involves assisting with photography, videography, graphic design, editing and publishing across various media platforms to enhance the organization’s visibility, engagement and messaging.

  1. QUALIFICATIONS:
    • An Associate’s Degree in Multimedia production, communication or graphic designs.
  2. EXPERIENCE:
    • At least one (1) year experience in multimedia production.
  3. SALARY:
    • This position is in Grade 4 of the salary structure within the range of $30,400.00 – $51,250.00 per annum. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  4. PRIMARY DUTIES:
    • Assist in producing photos, videos, infographics, and digital artwork for campaigns, events, training and publications.
    • Edit video footage using the appropriate and most effective software.
    • Support in designing layouts for newsletters, brochures, posters and online graphics.
    • Assist in the managing and updating website and social media channels with fresh multimedia content.
    • Assist with livestreams, webinars or digital presentations as required.
    • Assist with setting up of equipment at events.
    • Organize and maintain the digital media archive and content library.
    • Tag, catalogue, and back up files regularly for easy retrieval and compliance.
    • Work closely with the communication team to execute campaigns.
    • Liaise with departments to gather materials and ensure branding standards are met.
    • Provide administrative support, such as coordinating printing or media release logistics.
    • Create and schedule post across social media platforms such as Facebook, Whatspp channel and BVIEC Website.
    • Monitor social media for public sentiment, inquiries and emerging issues.
    • Assist with updating content on the website and intranet.
    • Asist in planning and executing public events, school programs and sponsorship activities.
    • Organize and archive communications content such as phots, videos as applicable.
    • Prepare reports and presentation for internal use or board updates.
    • Assist with the procurement of promotional items and manage inventory.
    • Travel to sister islands to perform duties on behalf of BVIEC.
  5. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
    • Excellent written, editing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
    • Excellent planning, organizational and strong time-management skills;
    • Intimate knowledge and understanding of emerging marketing channels;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites Office and social media tools; familiarity with Canva, Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere or content management systems;
    • Familiar with DSLR cameras, audio equipment, and lighting setups;
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work collaboratively;
    • Ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality of information related to BVIEC, its employees and other key stakeholders.
