CYBERSECURITY RISK MANAGER
VACANCY
The BVI Electricity Corporation (“BVIEC”) is currently seeking an innovative, highly motivated, proactive problem solver to fill the vacant position of Cybersecurity Risk Manager. The Cybersecurity Risk Manager should be able to assist the Corporation in playing a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization’s digital infrastructure. The ideal candidate must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
1. OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE:
- Provide strong support to the General Manager primarily and additional support to senior management, as directed, to ensure that the organization’s digital infrastructure goals and objectives are accomplished.
- Provide strong support to the General Manager primarily and additional support to senior management, as directed, on strategic, operational, and financial risk management practices.
- Maintain and refine internal processes to ensure the security of digital information and systems, protecting against hacking, viruses and other cyber-attacks.
2. QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Cybersecurity with 5-7 years professional IT experience in Cybersecurity or Risk Management role;
- Experience with risk assessment, vulnerability management and incident response;
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (e.g. ISO27001).
3. SALARY:
- Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
4. PRIMARY DUTIES (include, but not limited to):
- Protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability (CIA triad) of the systems and data by defining access privileges, implementing control structures, and assigning resources.
- Develops risk assessment and management strategies to reduce the financial and legal impact on the business.
- Identifies, evaluates and reduces vulnerabilities that could pose risks to the security of the company’s information and technological assets.
- Analyzes systems and processes and implements measures to mitigate risks, ensuring the organization’s digital and physical environments remain secure.
- Monitor internal and external policy compliance while ensuring that employees and vendors adhere to cybersecurity risk management policies.
- Lead investigations into security breaches and manage incident response activities.
5. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
- Strong time-management skills and an ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects;
- Objective analyzer specifically in quantitative and qualitative data analysis;
- Detail oriented and meticulous in Information Security and Systems vulnerability;
- Ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality of information related to BVIEC, its employees and other key stakeholders.
