CONGRATULATIONS!!! To BVI Electricity Corporation (Official) Linesmen as they have made history as the first utility to capture a consecutive (2023 & 2024) 1st Place Winning (Experienced Team Category) at the CARILEC’s Lineworkers Rodeo which was held in Antigua on Sunday April 21, 2024.
The BVI Team was led by Mr. Donaldson Hamlet- Transmission and Distribution Foreman, Junior Linesmen- Shaquil Samuel, Damien Richardson, Edward Pollock and Assistant Linesman Lenox Matthew Jr.
The CARILEC’s Lineworkers Rodeo is a popular and favorite event amongst utility Lineworkers, as they are provided with a forum to improve their technical skills, while simultaneously engaging in competition in the spirit of comradery and collaboration.
The CARILEC’s Lineworkers Rodeo events included HV Cut-out Installation, HV Fuse link Changeout, Phase Pin and Insulator Changeout, Phase Deadend Changeout, Phase Earth Installation and Hurtman Rescue.
The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of BVI Electricity Corporation are euphoric of our Linesmen who were exceptional and made history as they displayed their skills in this team building competition.
Congratulations is extended to all the other utilities and contractors; and also to CARILEC and the sponsors for providing the necessities for this competition to be conducted.
