BVI Electricity Corporation (“BVIEC”) is seeking an energetic, innovative and result-oriented professional candidate to fill the position of OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER. The manager will be accountable for researching new regulations and best practices in Health, Safety and in the Environmental field and recommend changes to the company’s programs, managing all safety and health training, ensuring compliance with all laws, rules and regulations and developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance by all staff and related personnel at all BVIEC facilities.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
5. DUTIES:
a) Preparing Health, Safety, and Environmental protection strategies and developing internal policies to address them;
b) Develop and implement Health and Safety compliance systems and programs, ensuring they align with BVIEC’s Mission, Vision, and Values;
c) Initiate and lead in-house training with department heads and their employees about health, safety, and environmental conservation issues;
d) Develop audits and inspections strategy to ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance at all BVIEC facilities;
e) Develop and implement a health monitoring program for employees;
f) Develop a structured and strategic training plan to address the health, safety and environmental conservation issues such as Fire Prevention, First Aid, First Responder, etc;
g) Required to inspect and evaluate all BVIEC facilities and programs to assess their compliance with environmental regulations;
h) Effectively communicate the health and safety goals, objectives, and performance expectations throughout the organization; and
i) Advise BVIEC management on a range of specialist areas such as fire regulations, hazardous substances management, noise, safeguarding machinery, and personnel and occupational diseases prevention in accordance with local and international standards.
