New Application For Electricity Installation and Service Upgrade
NOTE THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS WHEN APPLYING FOR ELECTRICITY INSTALLATION OR SERVICE UPGRADE.
Property Owner(s) as in section A: When applying for electricity, the Application for Electricity Installation and Service Upgrade form needs to be submitted in the owner’s name along with a copy of proof of property ownership and a copy of a valid Government issued picture ID.
Service Upgrades require that a change from the Property Owner(s) name to the tenant’s name(s) be signed by the Property Owner. The BVI Electricity Corporation’s account number and meter number MUST be filled out on the Application for Electricity Installation and Service Upgrade form.
Accounts held at BVI Electricity Corporation in a deceased person’s name, cannot be transferred into another name(s) unless a copy of the Probate is provided indicating the name(s) which the account will be transferred to.
If the Applicant is not the Property Owner, the application must be accompanied by a letter from the Property Owner giving consent for the Applicant to apply for the service and a copy of a valid Government issued picture ID for both the Property Owner and the Applicant.
- An application submitted by more than one (1) person, the application must be signed by all persons.
- An application submitted in a business name should be accompanied by a letter bearing the Company’s name and naming the person authorized to sign on behalf of the Company.
An Agent: as in section B is a person who has been given written permission to act on behalf of the property owner(s). The written permission and a copy of a valid Government issued picture ID should be attached.
Electricians: as in section G can only sign on behalf of the Property Owner(s) only if written permission has been given to do so and said written permission should be attached.
