Applications are invited from suitably qualified Candidates to fill the position of ELECTRICIAN – Generation Department.


The successful applicant should:

  • Possess the minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Possess a Certificate in Electrical Installation or Electronics.
  • Possess a Wartsila Electrical Training Certificate.
  • Have at least five (5) years working experience in a similar capacity in power generation with some electrical utility background.
  • Have at least five (5) years trouble shooting electrical faults.


Salary will be determined commensurate with qualification and experience.


  1. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and repair services to the electrical systems inside and around the power stations, including but not limited to boiler, water plant, pump house, fire system, heaters, fuel oil separators, lube oil separators, fuel oil purifier, oily water separator, black start unit, reverse osmosis system alternators, transformers, engine protection systems, cranes, and power station ventilation.
  2. Perform periodic inspections on all electric motors in the power station by recording and reporting any abnormalities.
  3. Inspect and maintain the direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) control systems for power stations and substations.
  4. Maintain proper documentation on each electrical maintenance activity carried out daily.
  5. Trouble-shoot problems relating to the PLC and SCADA systems when necessary.
  6. Ensure the power station lighting systems are fully functional by checking all lighting fixtures and placing where necessary.
  7. Being available/on call to work outside normal working hours.
